Sanofi: issues E2bn in bonds

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi announces having successfully placed a bond issue in 3 tranches for a total of 2 billion euros.


The first tranche concerns 850 million euros of fixed-rate bonds maturing in March 2022, bearing interest at an annual rate of 0.0%, the second tranche of 650 million euros are fixed-rate bonds maturing in March 2029, bearing interest at the annual rate of 0.875%, while the 3rd tranche amounts to 500 million euros of fixed rate bonds maturing in March 2034, bearing interest at an annual rate of 1.25%.

These issues will enable the company to reduce average costs and extend the average maturity of its debt. Sanofi will use the net proceeds from the issue of these bonds for general purposes.
