Air Liquide: new contract with Severstal

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide has announced that it has signed a new long-term contract with steelmaker Severstal for the supply of oxygen through a fourth air separation unit (ASU) at its Cherepovets site in Russia.


Air Liquide will invest around 60 million euros in the construction of this latest generation ASU, which will produce 1,000 tonnes of oxygen per day. With a greater energy efficiency, it will improve the site's environmental footprint.

Set to be operational by the end of 2023, ASU will be owned and operated by Air Liquide Severstal, a joint venture in which Air Liquide and Severstal are respectively 75% and 25% shareholders.
