Air Liquide: wins contract to buy renewable electricity

(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announces the signing of a purchase agreement for 50 megawatts (MW) of wind-powered renewable electricity with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, the world's largest producer of renewable energy.


The wind farm, which will supply 50 MW of electricity to the French industrial gas supplier is being developed in Menard County, Texas, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Thanks to this agreement, Air Liquide aims to supply renewable electricity with a significant share of its industrial gas production assets in Texas, while avoiding the emission of 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 over the contract's term.
