Safran: wins contract with Alaska Airlines.

(CercleFinance.com) - Alaska Airlines and CFM International have signed a 9-year Air Time Contract (FPL) to service the 128 CFM56-7B engines that power the airline's current Boeing 737-800NG fleet, Safran reported this Monday afternoon.

Including spare engines, this contract is estimated to be worth nearly 500 million dollars at list prices. In its terms, CFM will provide full maintenance and support, including engine rental and various transportation and MRO services.

As a long-term client for CFM, Alaska Airlines is the first company to use the CFM56-7B for the Boeing 737-900NG. The company currently operates a fleet of nearly 220 Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s, all of which are equipped with CFM engines.
