Ubisoft: acquires 75% of Kolibri Games

(CercleFinance.com) - Ubisoft has announced the acquisition of 75% of Kolibri Games, a leading publisher of free-to-play mobile games and one of the leaders in "idle" type games, thereby enabling the group to increase the scope of its operations in this growing category.


Based in Berlin with about one hundred talents, Kolibri Games has developed Idle Miner Tycoon, a game that has been downloaded by over 104 million players worldwide and which has been subject to more than 160 updates of additional content since its launch in 2016.

This acquisition was completed on 31 January and is expected to have an accretive effect on Ubisoft's earnings. The agreements provide that Ubisoft will gradually be able to increase its stake the full 100% over the next four years.
