Air France-KLM: layoffs ahead at Air France and HOP!

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday evening Air France-KLM announced that its subsidiaries Air France and HOP! have presented their strategic orientations and outlook to adapt staff numbers to their respective staff representatives in the wake of the health crisis.

For Air France, forecasts for staff requirements show a reduction of 6,560 jobs by the end of 2022 out of a current total of 41,000. Natural departures of over 3,500 expected over the period will enable it to offset more than half of this reduction.

For its low cost division HOP! the resizing of business and the airline's restructuring will lead to 1,020 layoffs out of 2,420 over the next three years. Taking into account estimated natural departures, there would still be around 820 excess staff at the end of 2022.
