Nokia: selected for European 6G project
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has announced that the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) has chosen Nokia as coordinator of the flagship SUSTAIN-6G project.
SNS-JU is a public-private partnership funded by the European Commission.
Nokia will lead a consortium of innovators to determine how 6G can play a key role in building a sustainable future.
'One of the main objectives of SUSTAIN-6G is to develop new solutions to the challenges of sustainable development using the toolbox that 6G will offer', says the group.
Peter Merz, Vice President of Nokia Standards, said: 'The UN Paris Agreement has committed the world to tackling climate change. Every industry must do its part. SUSTAIN-6G will show how the communications industry will apply the next generation of networks to create this sustainable future, overcoming not only environmental, but also societal and economic challenges.
