Nokia: presents 'major breakthrough' in 5G with BT

(CercleFinance.com) - BT today announced that it has become the first operator in Europe to aggregate four low and medium band radio channels (2.
1GHz, 2.6GHz, 3.4GHz, 3.6GHz) into a standalone direct 5G network (SA), using Nokia's 5G radio access network technology in EE's live network spectrum.

BT says this aggregation into a standalone network is a major step forward in the evolution of 5G infrastructure, effectively combining multiple transmission bands into a single connection.

Each new channel thus enables increased capacity and speed directly to customer devices.

Both shares are up about 1% on this news this afternoon.
