Nokia: first successful 25G PON trial in Turkey

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has announced that it has completed the first successful trial of 25G PON in Turkey, with Türk Telekom, making it the fastest fiber network in the country.


The trial took place in the laboratory at Türk Telekom's innovation centre in Ankara and achieved downstream speeds of 20 Gbit/s on a single wavelength.

Global investments in fiber underscore the importance of the competitive advantage provided by high-speed networks, Nokia Turkey said.

We are pleased to help Türk Telekom simultaneously deploy all three generations of PON technology powered by Nokia's Quillion chipset, enabling Turkey's first 25G PON network and providing high-speed broadband to customers in Turkey's largest fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, it added.
