Nokia: chosen by Canada's Telus to build 5G network

(CercleFinance.com) - Canadian telecommunications company Telus said on Tuesday that it has selected Finland's Nokia aand Sweden's Ericsson to build its 5G network.

The Vancouver-based telecom operator said the 5G deployment will support economic growth, while boosting the virtualization of health, education, and teleworking.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Separately, Nokia said on Wednesday that its 5G liquid cooling solution has helped Finnish mobile operator Elisa to cut the energy expenses of its base station by 30% and CO2 emissions by approximately 80%.

In India, Nokia said it has deployed its dynamic spectrum refarming solution (DSR) across key cities, enabling India's biggest telecom carrier Vodafone Idea to optimise the use of its spectrum assets.
