Nokia: announces 63 commercial 5G deals so far

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has struck 63 commercial 5G deals worldwide, a figure that includes several US giants such as AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, the Finnish telecom gear maker said on Thursday.


The company said that it has also sealed end-to-end 5G contracts with international wireless carriers such as Korea Telecom, Japan's NTT Docomo, O2, Vodafone Italy and Zain Saudi.

When including other types of 5G agreements - such as paid network trials, pilots or demonstrations - the total number of 5G agreements would reach over 100, it said.

The statement comes on the back of a positive momentum for the network equipment maker, as New Street Research analysts recently highlighted a "supportive" environment for the company.

The Nokia share is currently down 0.3% on Euronext Paris, but it has risen by almost 10% since the start of 2020.
