Siemens Gamesa: order for Sofia offshore windfarm in UK

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy says it has received a conditional order for 100 units of its new SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbine for Innogy's 1.
4 GW Sofia offshore wind farm in the UK, including full service and maintenance.

The 100 turbines are expected to be installed from 2024 on this project, located 195 km off the north-east coast of the United Kingdom, in the shallow central North Sea area known as Dogger Bank.

The project will have enough capacity to generate enough electricity to supply over 1.2 million UK homes when completed. The final investment decision is expected to be made in the first quarter of 2021.
