E.ON: takes final legal step in innogy takeover

ON said on Tuesday that the merger squeeze-out of minority shareholders of its smaller peer Innogy was entered into the commercial register today, concluding the final step for the takeover to go ahead.

The new E.ON will be one of Europe's largest energy network energy-related infrastructure operators, with about 50 million customers, and 75,000 employees in 15 countries.

innogy shares are likely to be delisted this week, E.ON said.
