E.ON: to develop giant agricultural project in Hungary
(CercleFinance.com) - E.
ON is working with German project developer FAKT to create an ecological, agricultural and economic centre in Hungary, representing a total investment of 1 billion euros.
The project will be a combination of agriculture, logistics and housing on an area of land equal to almost 500 football pitches, for which E.ON will provide sustainable energy, the companies said on Tuesday.
It will focus on greenhouse facilities for the all year-round cultivation of peppers, tomatoes, aubergines and herbs.
The site will also include Europe's largest onshore fish farm, as well as a kindergarten, primary school, shopping centre, hotel and conference centre.
