E.ON: completes wind farm off south coast of England

(CercleFinance.com) - After three years' construction, E.
ON has completed its Rampion project, with the offshore wind farm off the UK coast of Sussex now officially open.

The 116-tubine, 400-megawatt site is expected to provide electricity for up to 350,000 British households, while cutting CO2 emissions by around 600,000 tonnes per year, the German energy group said on Friday.

It is the first offshore wind farm off the south coast of England.

E.ON said it has invested nearly 3 billion euros in renewable projects in the UK over the past ten years.
