E.ON: to build big solar park in Texas

ON is planning to build a solar park that has a capacity of 100 megawatts in Texas, as part of a long-term supply contract with a South Korean energy company.

Under a long-term power purchase agreement, E.ON has sold subscription rights from 50 MW of the plant for a period of 20 years to SK E&S, one of South Korea's largest electricity providers.

The project will consist of 350,000 photovoltaic modules and will be built on an area of 670 acres, representing approximately 550 football pitches.

It is scheduled to become operational in 2020.
