Bayer: works with Scor, One Drop on insurance offer

(CercleFinance.com) - German drugmaker Bayer is working with French insurer Scor and diabetes management platform One Drop on personalized life insurance products for people living with chronic conditions in the US, the companies said on Monday.

Under the deal, the partners plan to develop a customized life insurance solution that pairs Scor's predictive risk assessment underwriting engine with One Drop's preventative self-care solution, that includes coaching, health data tracking, and AI-powered health predictions.

The move will help patients to proactively manage their health and reduce the risk of life-threatening complications, they said.

"Aligning the power of proactive prevention with those having incentives to drive long term health is crucial to advancing preventative care versus expensive reactive care," said Jeff Dachis, One Drop CEO and founder.

Research suggests that 29.1 million people in the United States have diabetes and around 1.4 million new cases are diagnosed every year.

For the record, Bayer and One Drop announced an agreement to jointly develop digital health products last year.
