Lufthansa: lifts its target for 2022 operating profit

(CercleFinance.com) - German flag carrier Lufthansa raised its full-year profit target on strong demand for air travel, after posting a strong rise in third-quarter earnings.


The carrier said that, barring "unforeseen circumstances", it now expects an adjusted EBIT of over 1 billion euros for the year, also anticipating an adjusted free cash flow of more than 2 billion euros in 2022.

The outlook was issued Tuesday along with third-quarter numbers, which showed adjusted EBIT rose to around 1.1 billion euros, from 251 million euros in the previous year, including an impact from strikes of around 70 million euros.

The shares are currently down 0.5% in Frankfurt.
