Volkswagen: invests in European environmental projects

(CercleFinance.com) - Under an agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB), Volkswagen AG will support a dozen European sustainable development projects through donations totalling 10 million euros, the German car maker announced today.


Selected jointly with the EIB, these projects cover a broad spectrum, from nature conservation to research on battery recycling to start-up incubators.

Ralf Pfitzner, Head of Sustainability at Volkswagen AG, commented, "We are aiming for practical results and want to promote biodiversity as well as carbon sinks to protect our natural resources. Furthermore, we wish to create space for ideas that have great potential for taking industry forward towards a carbon-free economy".
