VW: repaid 9.5 billion dollars to US customers, FTC says

(CercleFinance.com) - Late on Monday the Federal Trade Commission said that Volkswagen has repaid a total of over 9.
5 billion dollars since 2016 to the buyers of VW and Audi cars that were equiped with illegal emission removal devices.

In its final report, the FTC noted that more than 86% of those who completed their claims process chose to return their car through a buyback or early lease termination.

For the record, the FTC sought to compensate buyers and lessees of over 550,000 alleged "clean diesel" vehicles.
