VW: Skoda chairman Bernhard Maier to step down

(CercleFinance.com) - At the end of month Bernhard Maier intends to step down as board chairman of the Czech carmaker Skoda, the VW unit said on Friday.


After previously working for BMW, Maier took over as chairman of Porsche Germany's management board in 2001, and in 2010 was appointed board member for sales and marketing at Porsche, where he modernised the trade and sales organisation.

Maier was appointed Skoda's board chairman in November 2015.

His successor will be elected and announced at Skoda's board meeting in August 2020, the company said.
