Daimler: warns against risks from coronavirus

(CercleFinance.com) - The outbreak of the coronavirus may result in risks that could lead to significant reductions in economic growth in China, other Asian economies and also worldwide, Daimler warned on Friday.


In its annual report issued this morning, the German carmaker said that risks may not only affect the development of its unit sales, but may also lead to significant adverse effects on production, procurement and supply chain.

For the record, Daimler expects 2020 unit sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars to be slightly below their 2019 level, a forecast that only reflects a "preliminary estimate" of the possible impact from the coronavirus, the group said.

The Daimler share is currently down 1.6%, the second biggest faller in Germany's DAX index.
