Nestlé: launches plant-based burger
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Nestlé announced the launch of its herbal burger, Triple Play, at the University of Massachusetts to mark National Cheeseburger Day in the United States.
This is the first time that Triple Play - and any type of herbal alternative to the bacon cheeseburger - is available to foodservice customers in the United States. It will be available under the Sweet Earth brand at the University of Massachusetts in their dining halls, food trucks, takeaways and for online delivery, and will become a permanent menu item this autumn, Nestlé said.
In the coming months, additional university operators, restaurants and restaurant chains will also offer the burger.
