Nestlé: refocusing water business
(CercleFinance.com) - Nestlé's Board of Directors has approved a new strategic direction for its Waters business.
The Swiss agri-food giant has announced a refocusing of the Waters division on international brands, with a potential exit from local water brands in North America.
The company has decided to explore strategic options, including a potential sale, for the majority of Nestlé Waters' North American (US and Canada) businesses, excluding its international brands.
Nestlé wishes to focus on international brands (Perrier, San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna), premium brands and functional waters.
The Board also confirmed its intention to explore strategic acquisitions to grow in this category, while committing itself to making its entire global water portfolio carbon neutral by 2025.
