Holcim: partnership with Magment for magnetisable concrete

(CercleFinance.com) - Holcim has announced a partnership with the German start-up Magment to improve its magnetisable concrete technology for road surfaces, which allows electric vehicles to charge wirelessly while in motion.


Known as "inductive charging", this revolutionary concrete-based solution reduces the need for charging stations, while saving time. It is currently being tested by researchers at Purdue University in the US state of Indiana.

Other applications that are being developed include the electrification of industrial floors to recharge robots and forklifts as they operate, the Swiss building materials group added.

Little apparent impact though, with the share currently down about 1%.
