Holcim: announces aims in roofing market

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Swiss cement maker Holcim announced the launch, in Mexico, of a new line of roofing components, just 90 days after completing its acquisition of Firestone Building Products.


The building materials manufacturer says its Mexican subsidiary has begun marketing the "GacoFlex TechoProtec" line of waterproof and insulating roofing systems.

The company says that this launch reflects its aims in the roofing market in Latin America, where it intends to accelerate its development in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina through its Disensa store network.

LafargeHolcim - which has since dropped its former longer name - announced earlier this year the acquisition of Firestone Building Products, the commercial roofing and building envelope solutions subsidiary of Japanese giant Firestone.
