Barry Callebaut: to build new chocolate factory in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Barry Callebaut is building a new chocolate and compound manufacturing facility in Baramati, India, which is about 250 km south-east of Mumbai.


Once fully operational in mid-2020, the 20,000 m2 chocolate factory and warehouse will have an annual production capacity of over 30,000 tons, employing between 100 and 120 people.

The plant represents Barry Callebaut's biggest investment in India, one of the fastest growing markets for the chocolate confectionery industry.

The Barry Callebaut share is currently up 0.6% in Zurich, at 1,969 Swiss francs. Note that UBS today raised its target price on the share, to 2,200 Swiss francs from 2,050 Swiss francs.
