Alstom: supports automation of Lyon metro

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced at the weekend that thanks to its technology, line B of the Lyon metro has gone into 100% automatic mode.

The first state-of-the-art rubber-tyred metro trains are now running without drivers on the line.

By the end of 2023, 36 trains will be operating in commercial service on behalf of SYTRAL Mobilités.

The combination of various green innovations enables a significant reduction in energy consumption compared to old trains, Alstom says.

Having 2 wagons, the new trains can take over 300 passengers per train.
